The quick video above shows the DataCite Commons page for the FAIR Island EAGER Data Management Plan. Over the life of our project we followed the suggested practice of referencing our own DMP. Figure 1 shows the links showing up organically on the DMP page.

We primarily made this connection in Zenodo which allows for including related identifiers seen in Figure 2 below.

We also updated the DMP metadata manually with links to publications, where journals didn’t establish this link, as seen below in Figure 3.

Together, this begins to show the power of machine actionable DMPs to track and connect research outputs back to funded proposals. In two journal articles published with support from this EAGER, we included funding information, seen below in Figure 4, but could not establish the link to the DMP DOI.

Future work potentially may include searching for the award number and Funder ID to try to add additional outputs “out in the wild.”
